Innovation:
A key innovation on the project was the conversion and stabilisation of the existing live service channel beneath the carriageway. Rather than undertaking a full reconstruction or disruptive utility diversion, the team developed a solution involving split-ducting existing services, introducing new duct infrastructure, and mass filling the channel with foam concrete to create a stable long-term pavement foundation.
