Sealant Repairs
Work included:
Saw cut and remove moribund sealant in the MTFI’s concrete hardstanding area.
Clean joints, prime, pack and reinstate joint with a fuel resistant sealant.
The top of the fuel island, behind the contamination kerbs, the gap requires widening and re-sealing.
Between the PCC kerbs a 5mm gap has been sealed. This gap requires widening to 10mm and re-sealing with a hand applied sealant.
Upright joints to the contamination PCC kerbs are to be widened from 5mm to 10mm. Clean, pack and replace sealant.
The damaged aprons around the Aco
drains are to be to be broken out & re-cast.
Replace the isolated, damaged sections of of Aco drain.
Sweep area clean on completion.

Innovation:
A key innovation within the project was the upgrade of the hardstanding jointing and drainage interfaces using fuel-resistant sealant systems and enhanced joint geometry to improve long-term durability and reduce contamination risk within the fuel handling environment.
