Smoking Shelters and Surrounding Areas 

Work included: 

Breaking out and removal of 4no. existing smoking shelters. Lifting and disposal of existing paving. 
Supply and drill fixed installation of 4no. new steel framed smoking shelters. 
Raising of the levels to prevent the new shelters flooding. Installation of concrete foundations to each loading point. 
Supply and planting of new shrubs around the shelters in keeping with existing planting onsite, and the laying of bark mulch. 
Laying of PCC edgings and new block paving to create new hardstanding and footpath. 
Connection of down-pipes to new adjacent soakaways 
Supply of new furniture, including benches & ashtrays, for the shelters.

Innovation: 

The Existing smoking shelters had become old and tired and the capacity was too small for the quantity of on-site users. BPM were approached by Amey Defence Services to upgrade the smoking shelters, including surrounding environments, in four locations across MoD site.
