Work included:
Employing and working alongside a consultant engineering team to design and then provide layouts and conceptual plans and then full construction drawings.
Topographical Survey, Soil Analysis, Utility and Ground Penetrating Radar Surveys.
Dismantle, removal and disposal of the existing heavy-duty security furniture.
Excavation & Installation of high specification JSP604 Manhole chambers & lockable covers including twin wall ducting to provide access for power and comms cabling.
The erection of timber shuttering and casting of various sized reinforced concrete slabs.
Building of block/brick retaining walls with handrails and timber knee-rail fencing.
Installation of 358 security fencing and pedestrian gates along with numerous bespoke components, automated vehicle gates, pedestrian turnstiles, and tiger-trap gate systems.
Installation of pedestrian Aco channel systems and laying of block paved & tactile surfaces.
Saw cutting and reinstatement of surfaces with tarmacadam and hot bitumen. Installation of Advanced Number Plate Recognition Cameras.
Construction of a new macadam and block paved carriageway to form a new ‘in and out’ road system.

Innovation:
The existing security access system was outdated, non-functioning and no longer fit for purpose and did not provide the adequate level of protection to the site. Benchmark were approached by G4S to design and then install the ground works and civil infrastructure to allow them to provide the facility with a new, compliant automated access control system.
